Horseback Riding Lessons

Our Lesson Program
Welcome to the Lucky 7 Stables Riding Lesson Program. Our riding program works not only to create confident and competent riders, but to give our students the tools and knowledge to continue wherever their riding career takes them. We are not a barn that teaches showing, jumping, or any specialized disciplines. Our goal is to make better equestrians, share our love of horses, and help people in the steps towards their goals in riding. Our lessons are not just in the saddle: we also will take students out of the saddle to learn how to work horses on the ground, thus learning the basis of how horses learn and are trained. Our instructors and staff make a commitment to each student that comes into our program, we will do everything we can to help our students succeed. We work to make sure every student has been taught how to put in the work that it takes to be an equestrian.
Lucky 7 Stables offers horseback riding lessons year-round, by appointment.

Student Requirements
With the commitment from us, we also require a commitment from our students. All students must commit to 4 weekly lessons (minimum) each month to be enrolled in our program. A new student’s first lesson will not count towards their 4 week commitment. After the first lesson is completed, students are required to let us know if they want to continue with our program. Once a student chooses to continue with our program, 4 weekly lessons must be bought and dates booked to secure their spot in our program. At the end of the last lesson booked, the next installment of lessons must be booked and bought to be kept on the program’s schedule.
Cancellations and Breaks
We understand that life happens and there may be times when a lesson must be missed. A student(s) must give 24 hours-notice by phone or email to cancel to not incur a penalty. If we have to call the student(s) because they did not arrive within 15 minutes of the start of their lesson and the student(s) then cancels, the lesson will be marked as “No Call No Show” since no proper notice was given. Any lessons missed without notice or emergency will have the payment forfeited for that lesson. A “No Show” lesson will be noted on the student(s) file: after 3 times of that happening within 8 weeks the student(s) will be asked to leave the program. We know people take vacations during the year to get away, see family, or what have you. If a student(s) plans to take a break during the program and wishes to continue in the program, they must reschedule their lesson that will be missed prior to that break. A 2 week notice is required to reschedule for breaks.
Inclement Weather/ Cancellation Policy due to Lucky 7 Stables
If there is lightning and thunder, or winds above 25mph lessons and trails are cancelled. If the temperature or “real feel" hits 23 degrees Fahrenheit or below, we will instead do a care day. Care Day lessons are done when the riding arena is unusable due to weather or footing from previous weather. On care days the student(s) will learn how to groom and tack their horse properly and safely, about the parts and health of the horse, and other basic care needs. If the instructor(s) determine the arena is not safe for riding planned. We will call to inform the student(s) that a care day lesson is the plan for their lesson and students have the option to cancel/reschedule with no penalty. If the weather becomes unsafe to even do a care day we will call to cancel as soon as possible. This incurs no penalty to the student(s) and the option to reschedule will be available.
